Kindergarten Graduation 2007

The graduation of our Kindergarten class was on Friday 15 June 2007. The program included songs, sketches, and dancing. The children were then dressed in caps and gowns for the final part of receiving their certificates. They were told to throw the caps at the end of the ceremony. The teachers left out a very important detail, they did not tell the children to throw the caps up in the air. When the time for that part came, it was really funny to see all the children toss the caps down to the floor. Children are wonderful teachers. In their simplicity and spontaneity they were teaching our teachers a central basic principal in education: teachers must always remember to give clear, specific, and detailed instructions. Not a bad ending for a tough academic year in Lebanon!
